I started Events by Abby because I’m passionate about coordinating details of big events and also because I realized the need for a service that is more economical for today’s financially conscious couples.
I see what I do as event insurance. We always hope for smooth sailing, but the truth is small snafus are common for any event. My job is to quietly take care of anything that may come up so you can enjoy your big day. And once in a while big things happen; the cupcakes aren’t delivered, the florist gets lost, your photographer ends up the hospital. There’s nothing I haven’t seen and I’m prepared to find a solution for anything that may come our way.
I’ve been planning big events since I was in highschool and realized after college that I wanted to make a career out of it. The last 10 years of my life have been spent as an events manager at a catering company, an on-set wedding coordinator and an Associate Director of Strategic Events at the University of Chicago.
I love what I do and am inspired by creative couples looking to make their wedding a unique experience.
